Tuckahoe Point

We are up early for showers and breakfast and are out by 8:15. A beautiful warm sunny day to cross the Albermarle Sound, which can get rather rough with an east or west wind due to it being very shallow. The water was like glass, on the last couple miles down the Pasquotank river to the Bascule bridge in Elizabeth City. Then we head out across the Albermarle.

Finally some nice weather

After a long day we reach one of my favorite remote anchorages, no light pollution or cell service, Bear Point, but it is full of crab pots. We move on to another larger anchorage, Tuckahoe Point, just before the entrance to the 20 mile Alligator-Pungo canal. There are two other boats here.
