Long Island, Cruiser Beach

Relaxing morning, I make Popovers for breakfast and we putz around on the boat. We head in to shore and meet Mark and Karen for lunch at Souside an outdoor eatery with good views of Thompson Bay. We make our first stop at the local “supermarket” Hillside Supply and find out the supply boat will be in tomorrow so their fresh produce will greatly improve.

Early afternoon we get buzzed by a water spout. I had been skeptical of the reports of funnel clouds, not now. Over turned an inflatable with a 6 HP outboard, about 1/4 mile up from us. Sprayed our boat with salt water and I thought I was getting a fresh water wash down.
Ugly cloud parked over us

Late afternoon there is a Cruisers Happy Hour on the beach. Lots of cruisers here. We meet some folks that we last saw 3 years ago. The bay is starting to fill up with boats planning to wait out the next passing front. At Sunset the bugs come out and quickly breakup the party and we all quickly seek shelter on our boats. No need for dinner after Happy Hour eats.
