Our anchor is holding |
For some reason someone’s dog ashore starts barking around 4:00 AM and since the wind was blowing from that direction it sounded like he was in the boat next to us. I get up and check the anchor alarm and weather radar. We are anchored fine, but I see lightning indicated about 20 miles south of us. I watch the sky light up in the distance, to far way to hear thunder. I go back to sleep, but Linda could not. Linda gets out her laptop and gets some work done.
Glad we are here and not there to the south |
Amazing amount of light considering it is pitch black otherwise |
After an early
breakfast, we head into the laundry-mat, here at Rock Sound, one of
the better ones in the Bahamas. Lots of other cruisers were doing the
same. It was noontime before we get done. I had been texting Kim &
Cathy on Quiescence, sailing friends that we seen on all our past
trips to the Bahamas. They are a Canadian couple from Toronto, that
keep their Catalina 40 in Florida in the off season. We arrange to meet
them for lunch at Wild Orchids restaurant. Wild Orchids was just
getting started 4 years ago, the last time we were here. They now
have a very nice dinghy dock, water and trash bins. Mark, Karen,
Kim, Cathy, Linda and I have a really nice lunch.
