Aleyeska

I make pancakes for breakfast. We have a leisurely morning since we don't have far to go.  We head to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center which is just a half hour north. They have a wide range of rescued Alaskan wildlife, Brown Bears, Ek, Caribou, Wood Bison, Moose, Muskox, Black Bear, Wolf, etc. Being a sunny Sunday the parking lots are full.

We then head to the Alyeska Ski Resort to stay at the hotel for Sabrina’s last night in Alaska. Interesting ski area, the elevation is less than many Vermont ski areas, but since the base is only a few hundred feet above sea level the peaks look much taller. We have a very nice dinner at one of their restaurants and a relaxing evening playing cards

  1. I skied there. The high was about 5 degrees in January.
