We have and early breakfast on the boat and head to the fuel dock for a pumpout and fuel before we head south to Marineland

There is a long line of boats heading south. Normally, when we reach the Crescent Beach Bridge, opening bridge we are all alone. This is an on demand bridge and the operator normally times his opening so we do not have to slow down at all, as we approach and go through. Well, this time there is a long line of boats and we have to group up and wait for an opening.

A short day, we reach Marineland at noontime. They have expanded their docks since our last visit 10 years ago and we are on floating cement docks. Mark and I do some afternoon boat cleaning while the ladies go for a long walk over to the beach and the actual Marineland, famous back in the 60’s for dolphin research before Sea World.

Late afternoon it is Mark’s and my turn to walk to the beach. Not a lot of activity, just a few surfers. A lot of beach erosion. Much of Marineland is protected by a sea wall of large granite boulders, an odd sight in Florida.
