Up at 6:00 and out by 7:00am. Another beautiful pleasant sunny day, that turned nice when we first got to Florida and hasn’t quit. Lots of dolphins swimming about and around our boat as we are motoring along. On the down side lots of sunken sailboats, along the ICW, many from the recent hurricanes.
I thought we were going to miss our first opening bridge of the day, George Munson Bridge in New Smyrna. There was a lot of boats waiting for the opening which slowed down the whole process which allowed us to catch up and follow through as the last boat.
Linda is in touch with our boat insurance, BoatUS and we find we are covered as far south as the Turks and Caicos. We were concerned they might tell us we were only covered for the northern half of the Bahamas, as happened for a few other boaters we had heard about.
We are at Titusville at 2:30pm. Sea Vu Play and Manana head to the fuel dock, before taking our slips. The marina is full and I have been working these reservations since St. Augustine to get spaces for a couple days. Once in our slip I do a quick check to see if there are any SpaceX launches in the next few days. Bingo !, there is one today at 5:30PM. The added bonus is, it’s a Polar launch heading south over Florida which meets to return the boosters they have to land back near the launch pad, very cool. We were too far away to see the actual landing but could see it live on my iPad, but we could see the rocket firings on the way back down and hear the sonic boom. Quite a show. Mark and Karen came over to our boat for Happy Hour since we had the better view.
