Hanies

Another sunny day.  We are not going anywhere. This is our first chance since we started two months ago to really clean out the RV. Weeks of dirt and dusty roads have infiltrated the interior of the RV, Everything has been covered in a layer of dust at some point.  We have a lot of repacking and restorage to reduce wasted space.  This is the first time since Nebraska that we have chairs, tables and awning out to relax in the sun outdoors at nice comfortable temperatures. I would have had our ground matt out, but they are not allowed here because the grass is so good you don’t need one and they don’t want people using them and damaging the grass.  Feels like our first day of summer on this trip.

We met a couple of retired friends, Rose and Mila from Seattle, I think.  They took the Alaska Marine Highway from Bellingham Washington to Haines. Plan on visiting Alaska, Anchorage area and plan on driving back home. They are car camping in a Honda mini-Van.

In the evening after I wash off my very dusty bike, even though it has been covered, I go for a bike ride around Haines.  When we got here yesterday there was one cruise ship anchored and one docked. Not sure what shore activities they have for passengers, since they don’t seem to be in town.

Radio Shack stores, still exist in Alaska
