Rocker, MT, Flying J

Leaving in the morning

Drove through the rest of eastern Washington on RT 90 through Spokane into Idaho passing the town and Lake, Coeur d’Alene. Stop in St. Regis Montana for gas, temperatures in the mid 80’s. East of here the temperatures are forecasted to reach into the 90’s.  Will probably find an RV park with power to run our AC tonight.

A little later Linda drives so I can take a quick nap. Not long after it gets very windy as a cold front passes us west to east dropping the temperatures considerably.  Linda has a hard time steering the RV so I am back in the drivers seat. Of course right after that, the winds drop off, but also reduces the need for AC tonight.

We stop at Rocker Montana, just west of Butte for the night.  I had planned on staying at a campground there, but the price of $58 was a little overpriced and we now did not need AC. So we head down the road to the Flying J truck stop.  Have not stayed at one of these before so we thought we would give it a try. A few RV’s and lots of trucks, but quiet enough to sleep.  We decide to use their shower facilities for $15 dollars, not a bad deal if you can share it with your SO. The clerk at the counter who we were joking around with earlier comps me with a free shower, nice. We leave a good tip. There are 25 showers/bathrooms, which are full size bathrooms, very nice and they supply towels.

I offer to buy Linda dinner, but she declines
